The Mission
An illustrated book in the making. This site holds its Art Bible and every run that builds it, side by side. Everything here is read from one source: the manuscript of The Mission (version 2, 58,122 words, ends mid-way through "Connor's View").
Status, 18 October 2026.
- Done: every character's story from the text; the book broken into 125 scenes with costume and continuity; the rules of the world; 10 decisions on looks.
- The look is set: a real live-action movie; only the living binderclips (and the doodled faces of living objects) are drawn on.
- Approved: Sergio and the binderclips.
- Waiting for the art director: sheets for the rest of the cast (23 sheets, all passed the realism check), 23 contradictions and 10 open threads.
- Next: places and props, then key scenes, then the three outputs: book illustrations, comics and an animation storyboard.
Start here: who are you?
- Art director. Read Open questions first: 23 contradictions and 10 open threads wait for decisions. Then Characters.
- Team. Read Scenes, Character sheets, Characters and World and places. Click any item marked ¶ to see the lines of the book it comes from.
- Client. Read the Art Bible overview for where the work stands.
- Agent. Read the Art Bible overview, then the technical notes at its end. Treat the manuscript as the only source of truth.
